How to enable Bixby and S8 launcher on Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge
Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S8 and S8 edge smartphones last week, and one feature that caught the attention was Samsung’s virtual assistant; Bixby to take on the likes of Google Now and Apple’s Siri. Samsung aims to simply your smartphone using experience by making your control it with voice controls, Bixby can be enabled by tapping the dedicated button that Samsung has included. With Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, the company has also introduced a brand new TouchWiz interface with the brand new launcher.
As for Bixby, there seems to be an issue, the new Samsung’s virtual assistant runs fine for the first time after installing and then it starts crashing after it has gathered the required information from your device. There is no way you can access the voice control on the S7 and s7 edge, and this might be because other Samsung phones lack the dedicated physical button that S8 and S8 pack. Also once you a take a picture, Bixby gives you an option to share it with others and on social media, but now the Bixby apps keep crashing right after the picture is clicked.
Bixby workarounds and ports might be made available to Samsung phones in the future, but for now, Bixby keeps failing as it requires data from Samsung’s servers for it to perform the functions. For now, you can try out the new launcher APK and Bixby by heading over to the link and download all the required files and then install them like any other app. If you wish to uninstall the S8 launcher, you will have to head over to settings, applications and uninstall updates to the TouchWiz Home app which will result in you losing the current home screen setup on the default Galaxy S7 launcher.
